Andrew and Jacquie Pern acquired The Star in June 1996.

The inn had been closed for 7 months, and much effort and financial investment were needed to turn a derelict property into what is now amongst the finest of its kind in Yorkshire.

Invaluable assistance was provided by family and friends, whose enthusiasm and unstinting support is fully appreciated. Andrew and Jacquie are fully committed to their business, ensuring that the very high standards that they have achieved are maintained.

Andrew is the Head Chef, and Jacquie is "Front of House", and both put into the business the most important ingredient of any success story - hard work.
